Prospective Students
Future Wildcats

New Incoming First-Year Students
If you are interested in majoring in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science, and would like to learn more about the program, we are happy to arrange a visit! We arrange for visitors to meet with an advisor and, depending on availability, one of our NSCS Ambassadors. An Ambassador will give you an idea of what it is like to be a student at the university, and if applicable, a tour of their research lab. An ideal time to visit is during spring break week (usually mid-March). We are not open on the weekends. We encourage parents to visit with their students!
All prospective freshmen must apply to the UA through the Office of Admissions. Prior to enrollment, you must attend a mandatory orientation session. During orientation you will meet your major advisor and enroll for classes. You can also schedule a tour of the UofA while you are on campus through the Office of Admissions.
If you have been accepted and have paid your deposit, you must sign up for orientation. Please visit the Orientation Website for more information.
Transfer Students
Are you planning to transfer from a community college or another University? Check out the Transfer Center for more information about applying to the University and the procedure once you are admitted. You can also review the Course Equivalency Guide to see how courses articulate at the university.
If you are currently at an Arizona community college please check out our Transfer Pathways to see what courses are required in order for you to spend two years at a community college and an additional 2 years at the university. Please note that depending upon your math placement, we may recommend spending more time either at the community college or the university, depending upon your needs and interests. Transfer orientation is required, so contact Admissions to reserve your slot.
Current Wildcats
If you are a current University of Arizona student and you are interested in changing to NSCS or adding NSCS as a second major, or adding the Neuroscience Minor please fill out our Change of Major Interest Form. Responses are reviewed every Monday.
